We all went up to the wood lot today. Berck got bored because he didn’t have a chainsaw to play with (like Nathan and Max did). Although, if he had, he probably would have cut off a leg.

I blazed a trail for the three-wheeler to haul brush up (on an old car hood) while Max and Nathan cut up a 70-year-old pine tree. Under the brush by the tree, Nathan found our digital camera! It wasn’t in its leather case anymore, and the little rubber strip to pull the battery out was all chewed up. We think a mouse or a squirrel probably shredded the case for nesting.

I was advised not to try to turn it on until it had a chance to dry out. But when I brought it home to Berck (who cooked us all a delectable dinner), he turned it on just fine.

It works! Our camera is back!
