{"id":3787,"date":"2014-10-15T23:18:09","date_gmt":"2014-10-16T05:18:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nachzen.net\/?p=3787"},"modified":"2014-10-15T23:18:09","modified_gmt":"2014-10-16T05:18:09","slug":"barnes-noble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nachzen.net\/?p=3787","title":{"rendered":"Barnes &#038; Noble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I made a quick trip to Barnes &amp; Noble this evening after work to pick up a book. \u00a0I was hoping it would be quick, but they&#8217;re repaving almost the entire parking lot, so it&#8217;s nearly impossible to get to. \u00a0I eventually found a spot in the back and weaved my way through the maze of yellow tape and traffic barrels up to the front door. \u00a0Guys in hardhats operating heavy equipment were working out on the fresh pavement. \u00a0The acrid smell of asphalt was in the air.<\/p>\n<p>All Barnes &amp; Nobles are apparently identical all over the country. \u00a0They all have the double doors that open to a foyer. \u00a0I passed through the first set and was faced with the heavy wooden doors that open into the store. \u00a0The smell of asphalt was replaced with the scent of coffee.<\/p>\n<p>And I was transported. \u00a0Back 20 years, half my lifetime. \u00a0The same doors, the same aroma. Beyond those doors I would find laughter, conversation, friendship, and love.
