Michele bought a whole bunch of fruit today. What she does is ask the
\nproduce man at the store if he has anything he’s throwing away. He asks
\nif it’s for human or animal consumption. She says animal, but then
\nfeeds us on it anyway. I’ve learned to do the same. You can get a
\nwhole box of peaches (a bushel or so) for a couple of bucks. And most
\nof them are okay to eat too. Whenever she asks what we need at the
\ngrocery store, I say fruit, because we go through it so fast. So Michele
\ndid it again today. She came home with a couple of boxes of assorted
\nfruits and vegetables, half of which were suitable for nonhumans and so
\ndelivered. Justin got excited. I was lying on the couch, sacked out,
\nwhen this conversation ensued:<\/p>\n
Justin: Alright! Fruit bat time! Mom, do you know where the bat is?
\nMichele: What? No.
\nJustin: Hey mom, watch this!
\nMicrowave: BEEP, hummmmmm
\nMichele: Justin, what are you doing? No, don’t waste that potato!
\nJustin: But mom, watch, it’ll explode!
\nMichele: Justin, that’s a perfectly good potato.
\nJustin: No mom, it’s rotten…
\nMichele: Then give it to a needy chicken.
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: Whoa ho! That was a good one.
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: Here’s one…
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: Whoa!
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: I came THIS CLOSE to hitting the rooster!
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: Cool!
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: I almost hit Kandy…
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: That was pretty good…
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: I almost hit the flag pole.
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: YESSS!
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: I hit Herman right on the head!
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: Again! I got him again!
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: This one doesn’t look so bad. Ah, here’s one…
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: Herman’s the batter, he’s got two strikes… Hmmm…
\nScreen door: SLAM
\nJustin: Mom! I struck Herman out TWICE! He’s like, “Why is there fruit
