Conservatives buy more Porn

This is just awesome. Per capita, Utah is the state that purchases the most pornography. Turns out church-goers buy less porn on Sunday, but they buy more the rest of the week.

“Residents of 27 states that passed laws banning gay marriages boasted 11% more porn subscribers than states that don’t explicitly restrict gay marriage.”

Another theory might be that conservatives don’t know that internet porn is free.

This correlates with my theory that the most anti-gay-rights people are all, themselves, closeted homosexuals.

But I want some too!

Apparently I was asking far too many detailed questions about Dash systems in class. I like to know how everything works, but everyone else in the class is busy struggling with the basics. This is nothing new in life.

Yesterday, my instructor spontaneously and with no obvious provocation turned to me and asked, “What’s Avogadro’s number?”

Without missing a beat, or really thinking about it, I spouted out, “6.022 x 10^23”. A split second after I said it, I realized that the question had nothing to do Dash 8 systems, at least in any obvious sense. “Why?” I asked.

“I just knew you’d know it,” he said and laughed. So then several other people in the class got confused and asked what he’d asked me. He just said, “It’s a chemistry thing,” and then they all joined together and laughed at me.

Sometimes things never change.

I took my camera with me to class this morning and took photos on my way. I have to go 1.5 miles northeast, but there aren’t any diagonal roads, so I take lots of different routes. There are all sort of very strange things on my way. So I photographed many of them. There are also some photos of the boring base housing. The once-weekly cleaning person swept up a lot of the crickets, and I figured you guys would complain if I posted photos of the bugs.

The photos are up on the gallery. I would suggest clicking on one of them then paging through with the next button. The thumbnails are square, but the images are not, so you miss out if you just look at the thumbnails. I would write more, but I spent hours culling and cropping the photos, so be content with that.

Dr. Gilbert Burnham, the guy who did a study on deaths in Iraq, is barred for five years from serving as a principal investigator on research involving human subjects. His sin was collecting the names of people who were supposed to be anonymous.
