It’s going to snow tonight and tomorrow. Says the people who get paid to say such things.
This is annoying news for me, as I’m taking my final two finals tomorrow and snow will complicate my transportation plans. To make things worse, my calculus exam is scheduled at 8am, which is an incredibly stupid time for any sort of exam, particularly for a class that normally meets at 9:25am. This means I need to get up early enough to drive my car to the baseball fields in order to catch the bus to the campus. Thus far this semester, I’ve managed to motorcycle to class every day except one.
This isn’t because I’m crazy, but because we’ve had the warmest winter in Colorado Springs since I’ve been here. It’s only snowed twice this year. Last time was the Sunday after Thanksgiving which turned out to be incredibly inconvenient. Sydney was flying out on the redeye back to New York, so the snow didn’t really get going until about the time we left the apartment. Denver was clear, but I had to drive at about 30mph through a near white-out as soon as got south of Castle Rock. I didn’t get home until 2am, and then had to get up a few hours later to go to class.
Normally I’d be seriously excited about the snow. In a past life, snow used to mean that I got to sleep in and Jonah and I would get a late breakfast at Chic-Fil-A as I took her to work. Now snow means getting up early to ride a bus, so I’m a bit less excited.
In other news, I checked my beer yesterday and it’s only dropped to a specific gravity of 1.020. It should be down to 1.010 by now, but it’s pretty cold in the apartment. I was hoping it’d be ready to rack last weekend, but no such luck. Maybe this weekend…
