I’m here, at the Radisson Hotel. At 10:30am, with not a lot to do for the rest of the day. Todd’s in town, so I’ll be calling him in a little bit.
Fortunately, there’s free internet. There’s also only one little desk, which could prove problematic between my roommate and me. Who isn’t here yet, and the front desk couldn’t even give me a name.
I’m still pretty nervous about the whole thing– there’s a lot at stake here.
The flight down here was uneventful. They made me a little worried about whether or not I would be able to get on the flight, but I think I was at a higher priority than other standby passengers, but I’m not sure how their system works. It was a CRJ-900, which is the first I’d seen. I actually thought it was a 700 at first, then realized it seemed a little bigger. Otherwise, no real difference from the passenger’s perspective, and I’m sure I’ll find out more from the pilot’s perspective all too soon.
There are no obvious restaurants in walking distance and the hotel restaurant looks pricey. $15 dinners could add up after awhile. There may be something in walking distance I’ll discover after doing some investigating.
I asked the front desk how many of us there were, and she said she wasn’t sure, but there were, “A lot… I want to say at least 30 or so.” Which, assuming there’s some people not staying at the hotel would make for a rather large class, I’d think.
