Mexican Coke at Sam’s! 24 for $18 and some change.
Also Smoking Loon 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is very tasty, especially when you consider we only paid $6 for it. We didn’t even eat anything with it tonight, and it was very nice all on its own. Don’t be fooled by the picture of the cute animal–this is a really good value for money.
Dad took us out to eat to an amazing place up in Green Mountain Falls called the Black Bear last weekend that did the most amazing pairings of food and wine. It’s a good thing he was the designated driver. We started out with an excellent semi-sweet Riesling. Berck usually doesn’t like Rieslings, but he was impressed with this one. Big Tattoo–2 Brother Riesling can be had for under $10 online.
There were three other excellent wines as well–an amazing Chardonnay, the best Malbec we’ve ever tasted, and a really strange but really delicious Zenato Ripassa that went incredibly well with our rare, tender, chili sauce smothered steak. Ripassos are made by leaving the grapes on the vine until they’ve lost more fluid than usual and then, when pressing, passed through the raisins from last year’s pressing, thus the “re-passing.” This bottle can be had for $20 online.
