Obama urges Americans to follow Lincoln’s example
The Associated Press – 43 minutes ago
WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama called on Americans Thursday to follow Abraham Lincoln’s example of showing generosity to political opponents and valuing national unity – above all else.

Am I the only one who has a problem with this statement?

I call BS on it for two reasons: 1. He spouts “unity” from one side of his mouth then proceeds with partisan politics as usual. He’s a liar. 2. I want the best response to an issue, not the “united” response.

I don’t remember Bush appointing any democrats to anything.

They went out of their way to try to get republican support on the stupid stimulus bill, but apparently republicans will only approve stupid spending if Bush proposes it.

But the point of the post was to make fun of Obama suggesting that Lincoln achieved national unity through “generosity”. Generosity, war, eh, what’s the difference?
