I suffer fits of crazy from time to time.
At the moment, I’m considering refusing to communicate via email unless it’s encrypted. I’m thinking of canceling my telephone service: after all, who do I have to talk to? Do I really need to be able to access wikipedia at the local pizza parlor?
Not because I’m afraid, but because what does it do for me, and what does it do for the system?
Wanted: public key email encryption simple enough that my mother can use it. Does it exist? Enigmail is convenient for me, but is it for her? Google could have gone a long way to making this work, but profit gets in the way.
Is it possible to get by without a telephone in today’s world? Am I crazy enough to give it a try?
