Ben and Amanda are on their way out… I liked a few of the pictures they took. Since most of you probably look at Ben’s site, this is probably redundant, but anyway…

Fancy pasta making.

After my interview, Jonah, Ben and Amanda were waiting at home for us to go out to eat at Adam’s Mountain Cafe in Manitou Springs. While expensive, it’s not a terribly nice place. Then again, no one dresses up to go out to eat anymore. But, I was wearing a suit. I’d decided that when I got home I was going to tell them all to, “Suit up!” Barney-style. But, I walked in, and they already had. I stared in disbelief as Jonah stated the obvious, “We suited up!” We laughed and headed to the restaurant which is a great place for granola eaters like Ben and Amanda. I found it somewhat lacking real food and rather overpriced, though my jerk chicken was indeed good.

After that, we decided that we were still dressed all swanky, so we headed on over to the nicest hotel in Colorado Springs, the Broadmoor which Jonah insisted had a pub that Ben kept saying was an Irish Pub even though it was very specifically an English pub. The bee something-or-other. They had a piano man and sing-along piano. I told Jonah to request Piano Man, but it looked like it wasn’t in the book. But, it was indeed in the book, and it was the first thing he sang. While they did have good English beer on tap, (even available by the yard, though none of us were feeling up to the task), they didn’t have any pub chips. They had “chips”, but they were American chips, and should have been called “crisps” on the menu of an English Pub.

All suited up in front of the Broadmoor.

After that, in the spirit of the pub crawl that wasn’t, we headed over to the newly opened Good Times for some custard. There’s nothing like being in a fast food restaurant in suit…
